My
credentials: I have logged thousands of hours playing Seven
Card Stud and Limit Holdem in Atlantic City casinos since
2001. In addition I am well versed in most major poker books.
I am teaching on the basis of my extensive experience playing
in these low-medium limit games in Atlantic City.
Also
if you are interested in learning Pai Gow Tiles --or any other
table games for that matter-- I can give you private instruction
on the general rules of the game as well as optimal playing
strategy (to minmize the house edge).
Use
the Contact link on the Nevigation bar to the left to schedule
a private instruction class. |
The original
and primary goal of this website was to provide poker statistics and
strategy to players. At the time of this website's conception Seven
Card Stud (SCS) was still popular in Atlantic City, NJ and so I provided
extensive coverage of it. By now, however, Seven Card Stud has vritually
completely died out. Accordingly, no new coverage of SCS will be provided.
Additionally, some "House Games" (games that are banked
by and played against the casino) will be covered. Specifically, I
am now working on a Pai Gow Tiles (PGT) section. Some of it is already
available and stay tuned for more in the the near future! |
| About
the Author Jacob "JJ" Gluck |
I
have been playing poker since 2002. I started out playing low limit
Seven Card Stud on paradisepoker.com (the dominant online poker
room at the time) and in the Tropicana, Atlantic City, NJ. I lived
in Brooklyn, NY and commuted to the AC poker rooms for the weekends.
II eventually moved up to 10-20 SCS and then briefly to 15-30-45
Stud High-Low in the Trop. I soon discovered that Stud wasn't the
game of choice and that there is more money to be made in Holdem.
After the Borgata opened in 2003 I gradually phased out the Stud
games and the "pink" Holdem game of the Trop in favor
of the 10-20 Holdem game in the Borgata.
One weekend
in 2004 I scored unusually big in the 10-20 Holdem game making over
$2,000 which prompted me to move up to 20-40. At about the same
time, the 10-20 --and later 15-30-- Omaha High-Low (OHL) game in
Play Station started to become popular and I would play there at
least once a week (Play Station, the poker club in Manhattan, NYC
closed down about in May 2005). In 2005 I moved south in order to
be closer to the AC poker rooms and I played 20-40 Holdem habitually
in Borgata and sometimes the Taj Mahal.
In 2006 I decided
to take a job within the casino industry in order to satisfy my
quest for poker action without having to riak any money out of pocket.
I was hired by the Atlantic City Hilton as a poker dealer in Aug
2006 and am still hapiily employed there.
Also in 2006
I had a run-in with Borgata after they set the House hand wrong
in Asia Poker. After I complained to the Casino Control Commission
about it they revoked their offer of employment to me unfairly.
To add insult to injury they sent an email to Hilton management
in Nov 2007 apparently attempting to hurt me at my current job.
This prompted me to cease all action at Borgata and to officially
advise against playing at Borgata due to their conceited, patronizing
attitude towards most players who are not high-rollers. Read
the Borgata Incident here. |
